'ZULU GIRL' af Vladimir Tretchikoff, 1951. I gylden træramme med hvidt. Rustikt look, mat overflade og afdæmpede farver. 💸 Giv et bud. Kan sendes eller afhentes på Sankt Jørgensbjerg I Roskilde Om kunstneren: "Tretchikoff was born in Russia in 1913. He was a self-taught artist who captured the spirit of the exotic both in still life and, more fascinatingly, through portraiture. He lived the better part of his life in South Africa but was heavily influenced by Asian culture as well. His reputation is that of the "King of Kitsch," but during his lifetime, he was the second-richest, living artist behind only Pablo Picasso. He chose subjects that were unusual for the time and he showed the beauty of their spirit and culture. Tretchikoff brought art to the masses, being the first artist to make and sell prints of his work. He continued exhibiting around the world throughout the 1950's and 60's, and his exhibition at Harrods department store in 1961 drew more than 200 000 visitors. He retired in the 1970's in London and stopped exhibiting. He died in 2006 age 92. Reproductions of paintings by Tretchikoff hung in the living rooms of countless 60's and 70's homes in the UK. Now are very much back in vogue but very rare to find."
